The treehouse day

August 15

Currently I am sitting outside listening to the stream and the birds chirping talking with Kimberly.

The rest of the gang went to the waterfall and Kimberly and I planned to just spend a lazy day here at the treehouse.

Owen and bell had to move on unfortunately so we took a group photo! I know, I look like a baby!!

I love when I meet people like Kimberly because she is so carefree and we have such similar beliefs and values on life.

We got talking about traveling and the reasons why we chose to travel. It is so interesting to me because every single person I have met along the way has a story and their own outlook on traveling. We both read Eat. Pray. Love during our travels but where we both are in our lives made us look at the book through a totally different light.  It's so crazy how such a straight forward book can impact people in totally different ways.

I have been slacking writing quotes everyday, I know! This is a really great quote from Into the wild.

So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, confirmity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new & different sun".
-Jon Krakuer

Many of our conversations today were about living within your comfort zone and how important it is for everyone to go against the grain and step out of that zone and how much you learn from the experience.

Today was wonderful.

I wrote in my journal.
Played with/babysat some kids in the creek
Took a nap in the sun
Ate a bounty
Obtained a new flannel
Played tennis with Michael

And hopefully having another bonfire tonight!
