We woke up after only a few hours of sleep and booked our train for our next stop!
We caught a train at 12:30 pm heading from Berlin to Prague. We were supposed to arrive at 4:30 and we didn't get in until 8pm.
Long, long day!
We didnt reserve seats so we started off (on accident at first) in first class (just going to play dumb when we were kicked out). Within 30 minutes we were told to move to the 2nd class car. It was an absolute mess! there were people all over the place, just smushed in the train cars. We stood by the bathroom door, preparing ourselves to be crammed on the floor or standing for 4 more hours. Thank goodness for some boys who told us there wAs a train car that was less crowded about 3 cars up. We hauled our baggage through so many people. It ended up that there were no seats other than fold up eisle seats in an eisle that was less than 2.5 feet wide.
I laid down on the nasty train car floor, used my backpack and Hilde's scarf as a pillow, and fell asleep.
Less than an hour later, we were told we could move into a private room with 2 other people. Thank goodness!
Half way to prauge we were stopped at a station. Turns out there was an accident and we were delayed about 3 hours.
Everything ended up all working out even though we were all a but irritated at the time. It was a scenic ride with a beautiful landscape and castles.
We were just so glad we didn't have to stand the whole 7 hour train ride.
Finally, we made it to prauge! Our hotel was the best so far and we saw a lot of cheap beer on our way in so we knew we would be okay :)
We could not have found a better place to eat our first meal in Prague, after an exhausting travel day.
I ordered duck with dumplings and sauerkraut. (I am stepping out of my comfort zon, getting squishy) :)
