Oldest city in Denmark

July 22, 2013

Today we headed out around 10 am to spend the day in Ribe, Denmark (the oldest city in Denmark) with Marike, Rigitze, and Nete.

It was such a beautiful and quant town. I had so much fun just walking around, looking at the little boutiques and gardens, and taking pictures.

There were these little cobble stone alley ways that had these really cool antiques and gardens with little coffee shops.

Then I discovered my absolute favorite store! It is called Tiger and is similar to dollar tree because everything is less than 50 kroner (which is around $10). Yet it is not the quality of dollar tree. Everything is something that you would find at a store like target. I could have spent all day there! I bought a lot of random things and It was a blast. Here is a pretty terrible picture of the store...

All the boutiques were so colorful and and old school. I took a lot of pictures because when I come home and I get my own apartment (hopefully :)) I want to decorate it like every store here.

I almost bought one of these Buddhas but had to remind myself that I only have a backpack :/

There are about 14 beautiful cathedrals here in Denmark and one of them is in Ribe. Marike and Nete thought it was so funny because I wanted to go inside and check it out and they really had no desire.

We had a delicious lunch that Marikes mom, Rigitze treated us to! Thank you Rigitze!!

It was a wonderful day! We went home and fell asleep in the sun. For dinner we had "the cold dinner". It is just bread with every type of dressing set out in the table, every type of meat imaginable, and vegetables. I had to keep asking them what combos go with what but I think I ate for 2 hours. It was so delicious and I just took my time enjoying each of the combinations. Yum!!

P.S.  sorry for the overload of pictures! I am quite the tourist!
