Bittersweet

A very bittersweet feeling as the train pulled away from voss.  I felt lonely for the first time since I got on the plane in New York to head to Norway. I wrapped my soft knitted scarf around my neck and read the note again that Hilde gave me when we said goodbye at the train station. I started tearing up AGAIN. When I said goodbye to Hilde we hugged for a long while and she said "follow your heart Allison and it will all work out".

As I was sitting on the train tearing up I kept replaying that in my head over and over. I realized... You know what! I am following my heart and my first stop in Europe has already been an extremely eye opening experience. I know I will see the Børve family again (when they come visit Rhinelander :)) and we will keep in touch.

I suddenly felt rejuvenated and ready to get to Bergen and explore the city with Karoline, Ida, and Frederikke

Before I arrived at the train station, I ran into Kringlo to say goodbye to Maren. She said "I don't want you to leave. I finally feel like I have a sister I can fight with".  Gotta love her.  Ill miss you too Maren!

The train ride is absolutely beautiful with the mountains, fjords, and the beautiful country side! Amazed this is what Hilde experiences on her way to work every week. How incredible!
